Services we offer

Taxation

As a tax-based practice, we work hard to stay abreast of the many changes and additions to the tax legislation that occur every year. We recognise, however, that in a field such as ours it is nigh impossible for a single individual or firm to provide the breadth of technical, financial and legal expertise our clients often require. So, over the many years we have been in business, we have hand-picked a professional network of specialist firms and advisors to enhance our service offering and assist us in providing the best possible advice. This ensures that no issue is too big for us to handle.

As a registered Tax Agent, Parmelia Partners provides advice across all taxation issues and in relation to all entity types. Whether it be an international transfer pricing issue or the substantiation of your motor vehicle expense and whether we are dealing with a sole trader or a listed public company, we can always provide a response. We also manage the preparation and lodgment of your other ATO reporting requirements in a timely manner.

Accounting

Accounting is the bread and butter of our business. We are all initially trained to be accountants - and whilst you may wonder why - it’s what we enjoy doing. As we deal with a variety of industries and levels of client sophistication, we have gone to great lengths to ensure that we are fully conversant with the plethora of accounting software available today. We deal with MYOB, QUICKEN, AGRIMASTER, CASHFLOW MANAGER, BGL and many other programs.

In todays IT world there is also a rapid transition towards online “cloud” computing and data storage. These innovations offer many advantages providing clients and accountants with easy, simultaneous access to the same information without the need to transfer documents and without compromising the integrity of the files themselves. Parmelia Partners is at the forefront of these changes and we are now able to seamlessly (and securely) integrate information on our client database with that of the major banks and share registries, delivering an unprecedented level of accuracy and continuity in our reporting.

Superannuation

Superannuation is an area we have been involved in for a long time. We provide support to a large number of clients running their own superannuation funds – SMSF’s. Our services include:

  • Legal establishment of the Fund and set up with the ATO
  • Financial Reporting and ATO Annual return preparation and lodgment
  • Audit of self managed funds
  • Transition to Retirement and Pension Income Streams
  • Contribution and pension planning and strategies
  • Borrowing structures

We are not registered to provide financial advice. Our services focus on ATO compliance and taxation planning.

Corporate Advisory

Our corporate area is geared to deal with your company’s every compliance and reporting requirement. We can maintain your company register and attend to all company changes, share issues and transfers, and the annual solvency statement.

With regard to corporate transactions we can assist with:

  • Advice on the overall approach to the transaction and assistance with a due diligence program
  • Co-ordination of the advice received from other advisers
  • Advice on the optimal structure for the proposed transaction
  • Advice on proposed financing arrangements, working with the proposed finance provider

Retirement and Succession planning

Wills are often the starting point and we strongly urge all of our clients to have one. We can assist with setting up a basic will through to more detailed testamentary trusts. We work with many lawyers to tailor a solution at a price and complexity level to suit you.

Retirement is something we only do once. Therefore you need to start planning for this well before it’s time. With a focus on the right structure and management of cashflows you can position your self to take advantage of various tax concessions now and in retirement.

Succession planning is something many of us struggle with. You have worked hard to build your business but now what. Involving the family is an important part of the decision making process and so is the need to plan and legally document what you want. And as we will generally understand you and your business better than anyone else, we are well-positioned to identify many of the challenges and assist with potential solutions.
